Five questions to ask at a viewing
Short, and each one saves an argument later.
- Who registers the lease and pays the 3% fee? The law says the landlord, unless your contract says otherwise.
- When is rent due? If the lease names no date, it is due at the start of each month, in advance.
- Which repairs are the owner's, and who do you call when something breaks?
- When can the rent change? Look for the words "unless agreed otherwise" in the contract.
- What condition should the home be in when you leave? Take photos on day one.
